Founded on a Simple Idea
No Nasties Kids started in 2015 in our founder's kitchen with one simple dream, to create a safer, toxin-free space for kids to play and live. Over a decade later, we've grown into the world's largest and cleanest kids' play makeup and natural hair care brand, trusted by over 100,000 families across 31 countries. But our ethos hasn't changed. Every product we make is still held to the same strict standard: if it isn't safe enough for our own kids, it doesn't make it onto your shelf.

What We Will Never Put In Our Products
"No Nasties" isn't just our name, it's our line in the sand. Across our makeup, nail polish, hair care and skincare ranges, you will never find:
- Talc, bismuth, carmine or Red Lake
- Artificial FD&C colourants
- Parabens or phthalates
- PFAS ("forever chemicals")
- Sulphates, SLS or SLES
- EDTA
- Gluten, dairy or soy
If an ingredient can't pass our safety bar for a child's skin, it simply doesn't get used, no exceptions, no "trace amounts," no fine print.
What We Do Put In
Clean doesn't mean compromising on what works. Our products are formulated with plant-based, naturally derived ingredients chosen for both safety and performance:
- Makeup and pressed powders are built around ethically sourced, child-labour-free mica, along with naturally derived mineral pigments and starches like tapioca and rice starch, batch tested for purity and heavy metals, so every pan meets the same clean standard.
- Hair care leans on plant extracts and botanicals - think chamomile, broccoli seed oil, emu apple, kangaroo paw and lilly pilly, instead of harsh detergents and synthetic conditioning agents.
- Skincare (MEBEME) uses gentle, naturally derived cleansing agents, aloe vera, tea tree and native Australian botanicals to care for young and sensitive skin without unnecessary or expensive actives.
We publish our full ingredient lists openly on our Ingredients page, because a clean ingredients promise means nothing if you can't check it for yourself.
Made for Kids, By Design
Every formula is:
- Hypoallergenic and specially formulated for children's sensitive skin
- Allergy-friendly - free from common allergens including dairy, gluten, soy, tree nuts and wheat, with no hidden derivatives or traces.
- Batch tested for purity at the ingredient level
- Designed to be gentle enough for play, every day - and for the inevitable moments it ends up on skin or the family pet
We still recommend a patch test before first use, and our products are intended for external use only, but the goal from day one has been to remove the guesswork parents feel when handing their child a "beauty" product.

Being Australian Made has never meant cutting corners on safety. Every No Nasties Kids formula is crafted to meet or exceed the strict cosmetic safety standards set by the EU and UK - widely regarded as among the most rigorous in the world.
Rather than relying on Australia's comparatively lighter touch cosmetic regulations alone, we hold ourselves to the same bar demanded of the toughest markets on earth: full cosmetic product safety assessment, ingredient-by-ingredient toxicological review, and formal registration for sale in both the EU and UK.
As the only Australian play makeup company to achieve this level of safety testing and registration, we've made a deliberate choice to prove our clean claims against the highest scrutiny available, not just the minimum our home market requires.

We love animals as much as we love kids. No Nasties Kids products are never tested on animals, and neither are the ingredients we source, a non-negotiable standard we hold our suppliers to as firmly as we hold ourselves.

Every pressed powder, lip gloss, nail polish and hair care product is made right here in Queensland, Australia, where we can personally oversee formulation, sourcing and quality control from start to finish. Being Australian Made isn't a marketing line for us, it's how we keep our promise verifiable, batch after batch.

My almost 3 year old is so happy with her own makeup now and I'm relieved that I don't have to share my makeup with her anymore. Haha! Also the fact that it's kind on the little ones skin.

Love it! It smells like citrus (and fresh). Its not strong or overpowering scent but it definitely eliminates the odor which is perfect for kids (as i dont like mine smelling like adult perfume or scent). Definitely recommend and will buy more!

Love this comb. I use it when I have to do her dance hair and so happy I decided to get it.
The comb is the perfect size and it's handy. I can try cute hairstyles for my toddler now that her hair is longer.
My daughter and nieces can use these confidently and I don't worry about it being toxic for them. They're lovely colors and the girls enjoy them. Much appreciation!

Our 9yo boy has shoulder length, curly hair, and high sensitivities (one reason his hair is long!). Brushing out the knots has always been quite an ordeal, and the preferred brushes from the chemist kept breaking due to the spring-like design. I was very reluctant to try a new brush without testing it first, given so many are rejected vertically straight away, but after researching this brush and watching online videos, gave it a go. He approved of this brush straight away and although hair brushing is still unpleasant, it is a soft and gentle brush that eventually gets the knots out. Expect to brush over and over a knot to remove it, but that’s the price to pay for a more gentle experience I suppose.

These are a decoy for my 18m old who loves my real makeup brushes just a bit too much. I supervise her as she plays, she loves threading hair ties onto the handles, inspecting the sprinkles inside and having her face brushed. These are SO pretty and such great quality I'm certain she will love using these for pretend play when she is older.

Love the spray, smells delicious and easy to use for my daughter - she uses it every day to do her own hair.
Definitely an improvement over all other brushes and combs we have tried to date. I do find that it "fluffs" the hair of my younger daughter and doesn't work as well on her knots as it does on my eldest daughter's straighter, finer hair.

We noticed that our daughter was occasionally experiencing body odour, but we didn’t feel comfortable using adult deodorants on her. A colleague recommended No Nasties, and we’re so glad they did. The deodorants work perfectly and give us peace of mind knowing they’re made without the harsh chemicals commonly found in traditional deodorants. A great, gentle option for kids. Highly recommend!
This spray is amazing, my 4 year old daughter has curly hair and gets the worst knots. I've tried other sprays but this is by far the best!!!

My little grand daughter loved her play make-up set with the cute little bag and has enjoyed using it on herself and her favourite doll. As she has a fair, sensitive skin, its reassuring to know her skin will not be damaged by the products.
My 2yo daughter loves these. She is able to use the brush herself, its just the right size. Once it dries it peels off skin really easily. It doesnt last on the nails too long either which is great for her but I feel like as she gets a little older she will want it to last longer.
I bought this for my 10-year-old daughter to help her start a good face care routine. She really loves the cleanser and moisturizer, and it has helped her develop a good healthy habit of cleaning and moisturizing her face. I spent a long time researching various products looking for the best "clean" and chemical free ones to use. We are very happy with these products and would definitely recommend them.

On to second spray bottle. First spray bottle lasted nearly a year so great value, brought with the brush....wat a game changer!! My Granddaughter absolutely loves it. Takes all the tangles out and leaves her hair smelling so good all day.
